BMW 5 Series Audio Information

Hier ist eine frage sehr interessant: Was bedeudet "Freude im Fahren" auf englisch?

If you understood the above sentence and you are an American or Canadian Bimmer fan, you are indeed "hard core." For the rest who don't remember their high school German, the phrase freude im fahren means "Joy in Driving" - a description of the BMW that few of its fans would argue with.

Of course, even the stock BMW 5 series audio system is head and shoulders above many custom automotive sound systems. Standard BMW 5 series stereos and BMW X5 audio systems have earned high praise from prestigious websites such as Edmunds, Kelley Blue Book and Cars.com as well as high-profile publications like Car and Driver and Motor Trend. Even the BMW Z3 audio system has scored high marks among members of the automotive community - no mean feat for an open convertible.

So - what does one do when the best isn't good enough?

If your standards as an audiophile are impossibly high, you'll be happy to know that there are many BMW 5 Series audio upgrades available, as well as for other BMW models. If you are fortunate enough to own a new vehicle with the one of the latest BMW 5 series stereos or a state-of-the-art BMW X5 audio system by Harman-Kardon, this may be less of an issue for you. However, if you own an older - but still serviceable - Z3 built prior to 2006, you'll still find numerous BMW Z3 audio system upgrades available.

The best part is that even the more expensive BMW 5 Series audio system upgrade still costs under $600 - and many can be had for substantially less. These include elaborate systems that you'd be well advised to have installed professionally as well as simple "plug-and-play" BMW 5 Series stereos with coaxial speakers that can be mounted anywhere in the vehicle.

Audio sound system expert Wayne Hemrick explains how the BMW 5 Series Audio is superior to other audio systems.

Customer Review: annoying
Bosch put more work into making sure the blade lasts a long time than they did in making sure it actually works well. Bought this from autozone for about $14 for the drivers side and a $4 blade for the passenger side. $4 blade is great, but the Bosch blade leaves streaks and doesn't perform much better than the old blade that was being replaced.

Whats new for the 2006 Corvette Z06?

First, the 2006 Chevrolet Corvette has been redesigned for the 2006-year model. It has enhanced features, but in this article I want to tell you specifically about the Z06 features to this model.

The Z06 is, of course, the fastest vette ever built. It will have a 500 horsepower 427 cubic inch engine with lightweight components. What does this mean in a 3130-pound car? It means superior performance beyond all other Corvettes. Estimated 0-60 in less than 4 seconds along with a sub 12-second quarter mile. Top speed is reported to be more than 190 MPH (on a closed race track of course).

What makes this new Corvette so much better? Several components:

  1. 500-hp/475 lb.-ft torque
  2. 7000 RPM redline
  3. 11.0:1 Compression
  4. Titanium connecting rods
  5. Titanium intake valves and pushrods
  6. Hand built engine
  7. Dry sump lubrication
  8. Aluminum body structure
  9. Carbon fiber front fenders
  10. Magnesium front cradle
  11. Fixed roof design for rigidity
  12. Larger grill and cold air intake scoop
  13. Wide rear fenders and a rear spoiler incorporated into the tail of the car
  14. Larger cross-drilled front and rear disc brakes
  15. Larger wheels and tires
  16. 3 exhaust
  17. Light weight seats with fixed side bolsters

Options:

  1. Bose audio with an in dash six CD changer
  2. Polished wheels
  3. Telescoping steering wheel
  4. Heated seats
  5. Navigation system
  6. Homelink
  7. XM Satellite Radio

All in all, this is going to be one of the best Corvettes Chevrolet has ever offered. I cant wait to see one.

Lowboy trailers, also known as low bed trailers, are utilized for loading and transporting heavy equipment. The capacity for hauling starts at ten tons to 100 or even more. This is the ideal solution for hauling farm equipment, or construction machines such as tractors and excavators. They are designed to work well in field conditions for convenient loading and unloading heavy machinery and equipment.

There are many types of lowboy trailers available from leading manufacturers. The size and weight capacity needed should be determined by the specifications of the haul and what the continued use will be. They are also available in a variety of colors and custom paint jobs to suit individual preferences. Identify what field conditions will be present before deciding on the model best suited.

Fontaine makes a 46 lowboy trailer with a capacity of 35 tons. This model includes ramps for easy loading and unloading of equipment. The same manufacturer makes a 55 ton model for heavier machinery. Lowboy trailers can be fixed neck or detachable with beaver tail or tilt bed options. Determine the conditions in which loading and unloading will occur to determine what options are best. Researching different manufacturers will allow ideal selection. Manufacturers such as Trail King, Talbert, Aspen and Liddell all make lowboy trailers.

Caution should be used whenever loading, unloading or hauling heavy equipment. Ensure the load is secure and attached correctly. Please also check local requirements for hauling and transporting as there may be permits or special licenses required. Hauling oversize merchandise generally requires a special permit.

Price of lowboy trailers widely varies depending on the specifications, year of the model and condition. However, these varieties are designed to be durable and many people find purchasing used equipment much more affordable. There are many variables in determining the type of lowboy trailer that is best. The length, well depth and weight capacity are of prime concern. Check the ground clearance to ensure it is suitable for the means of transportation and the unloading destination. Axles, wheels, brakes and tires should all be in good condition before purchasing a used lowboy.

Bosch 40819 HindSight Rear Wiper Blade - 19"

FICTION - It Takes A Long Time For Marketing To Work. You Have Get Your Name Out There And Build Brand.

Advertising is usually broken into two categories.

1. Branding. This is the stuff that takes a long time to work. This is get your name out there and hope you get some return on your investment years down the road advertising. Branding works only after you have top of mind awareness in a market place. Must dealers don't have the money, patience or time to do this kind of advertising. We don't recommend it for any automotive dealerships or small businesses.

2. Direct response marketing. For you, the only choice is hardcore, retail-oriented, direct-response, lead-generating, low-cost, overnight-results-getting advertising. We teach this kind of advertising to dealers all around the globe.

We call our style of marketing... Gravitational Marketing because it allows a dealer to attract customers who pay more, stay longer and refer repeatedly. It defies the natural laws of the kind of marketing most dealers use because of it ability to pull such huge and rapid response.

Brand building can take years and lots of advertising dollars. The "Golden Arches" didn't build their brand overnight or on a penny budget. It doesn't make sense for you to spend your marketing budget branding your business.

Now you are probably thinking to yourself. If branding takes so long, then how do you get results overnight?

The secret is positioning your ads correctly and uncovering the emotions of your customers. It's about as easy as flipping on your light switch. It's all in the formula. Successful marketing is a recipe.

Is branding bad? Of course not. Branding is great and we want to continue moving in that direction - just not pay for it. It's the paying for it that's bad. It's very counter-productive and is becoming increasingly difficult due to the mass segmentation of the market.

Brandscending is the building of a brand for free. It's the process by which your company carves out a clear and definitive place in the minds of the people who you're trying to reach and at the same time getting them to respond. Brandscending is about building brand and at the same time getting a return on your marketing investment immediately.

So how does brandscending work?

1. You must learn who your potential customers are and what they need most. Offer what they need. This shows you care about them.

2. You must have a unique image. Something that sets you apart from the rest. This image needs to be attached to all of your results marketing. This is how you begin to build your brand.

3. Make your customers experience fun and unique. Make it different. As people talk, your brand value becomes greater and greater.

You can't just spend some money on an empty ad and think you built a little brand equity and got your name out there. It doesn't work like that. People won't sit up and take notice when you have nothing interesting to say.

You Can't Control Word-of-Mouth Advertising

FICTION - Without a doubt this is fiction. Some of the best marketing is word-of-mouth. The best part about it - it's totally free.

Can you control it?

You bet you can. Most people think it's impossible to control but that is nonsense put into our heads by the traditional pay-per-advertise media. It's one of their biggest secrets and they don't want you to find out about it.

It's not easy. We didn't say it would be. But if done right - can pay out huge.

To control word-of-mouth you must be sensational. Sensational dealerships have seven characteristics they all share:

* Fun
* Unique
* Risk Taker
* Interested
* Visible
* Credible
* Spreadable

This type of committed marketing is not for the traditional dealership. You have to flush your mind of the old tactics and open up to this form of advertising and put your money into "smart marketing".

You must rise above the others and stand out to make word-of-mouth advertising work for you. You have to be in a category most are not in. If you are reading this article right now you are probably a good fit for this type of advertising.

Easy - no, but it's not impossible. You must position yourself as the expert in your business. Shine in your industry. People will start to talk about you. As people talk they will begin gravitating toward you and your business wanting to be a part of the excitement. Asking you for advice. Looking for answers to their challenges. Why? Because you are the obvious choice - you are the expert. As you talk to them you form emotional bonds and connections that will last through the years.

When everything comes together you will stand high above the rest and people will talk about you and do business with you.

Wiper Blade - 1985-1987 BMW 735i M30

Wiper Blade - 1985-1987 BMW 735i M30

The United States is a nation of automobiles. In fact there are more cars, trucks, buses and motorcycles in the country than there are people. That is a lot of vehicles, and perhaps, it is for this reason that owning an automotive based business makes so much sense. And a car or truck franchise business might be an option for you if you are considering starting your own business in the automotive, trucking or transportation industry?

The great thing about having an automotive franchise is you know there will always be customers. Americans have fallen in love with their automobiles and they are willing to spend money on them. Not only money that they must spend from time to time on repairs or maintenance, but also a good chunk of their elective expenditures or their play money. Did you know that the aftermarket auto accessory business is well over $100 Billion Dollars per year in the United States alone?

Sounds as if that is a pretty good market and not a bad industry to own a franchise business either. If you are someone that likes cars or has been around the transportation business all your life, then perhaps you need to take a good hard look at the automotive category when searching for potential franchises. Now you must realize that just because a company is offering an automotive franchise does not mean it is an automatic profit maker.

You see, all franchise companies are different and some have more potential than others. This is why I always recommend to do due diligence and find the right automotive franchise for you and one that fits your budget. For instance, if you wish to put together a large franchise business in the automotive sector such as a full maintenance garage you could be easily looking and $0.5 million, or you may be able to get into a Mobile Service Automotive Franchise for under 100,000 dollars. So, you can see there is a big difference in the automotive franchise offerings that are available.

Until 2002, world class motorcycle racing was best represented by the 500cc World Championship. Riders took lightweight 2-cycle motorcycles at criminal speeds and required extremely skilled riders. Many of the major factories such as Honda, Yamaha, and Aprilia were represented but Ducati, the most traditional and successful racing bike was not. Ducati stayed out of the 500cc class because of the 2-stroke rule. The motorcycle racing governing body that regulated MotoGP decided however to allow the introduction of 4-stroke motorcycles in 2002. This opened the door to Ducati and others and set the scene for technological revolution.

Ducati engineers went to the drawing table and plugged hundreds of engine layout combinations into specialized engineering software. According to the computer models, the perfect combination of cylinders, valves, and layout was a L-4 cylinder, liquid-cooled, DOHC, Desmodromic, 4 valves per cylinder, gear driven camshafts engine. What followed were 5 years of trial and error and finally an incredible winning streak in 2007. By this time the public was clamoring for a street legal version of the bike.

In mid-2006 Ducati began taking orders from existing 1098S owners who wanted the bike and estimated delivery only in 2008. Boasting a 200hp engine and all the racing heritage you can ask for, the Desmosedici , which by the way means 16 (after the number of valves), is a dream come true. What makes the bike even more respectable is precisely the heritage since Ducati turned the mid century Desmodromic technology an important factor in the success of the bike on the tracks. While other manufacturers like Aprilia were experimenting with hydraulic lifter technologies, similar to that found in Formula 1, Ducati set out to repeat what made it's bikes winners in the international Superbike circuit, torquee light machines. With the added 2 cylinders, the Desmosedici is perfection defined.

Bosch 40922 22-Inch Excel Micro Edge Wiper Blade

Front Years:2001-2007 Qty Per Vehicle:1
Customer Review: "fast and easy installation" ...yeah, right!
I give this product one star because the box promises "fast and easy installation" yet it utterly fails to instuct me in how to put these on the car! (It's not intuitive and I'm no idiot, thank you very much) The installation instructions provided on the cardboard backing consist of a series of tiny drawings of a pair of hands holding various hard-to-identify objects performing various undescribed tasks that all look the same! What is the weird tool for? How does it work? What is happening in the pictures? What's the objective? Absurd!
Customer Review: Bosch sure beats the normal replacements
I can sure tell the difference after my husband installed the new Bosch wiper blades. The streaks on the windshield are gone & no more wiper blade chatter! I recommend them to anyone.

Giant. Huge, Massive. OK, a bit cliche, but appropriate. I know that any decent PDR Tech could make nice scratch by servicing ONLY New car Dealers, For NEW CARS. I don't know why (see the term lazy) but PDR Techs overlook and don't walk/write the new cars at dealers.

And new car dealers usually want these cars, uhm, new. So, they usually will approve these repairs, yet no one usually takes the time to walk them. Why? Because there usually isnt sufficient volume for a busy PDR Tech to take notice. But, lets for conversation sake, say you are NOT a busy PDR Tech with 6 days worth of business, and you could use some more business.

Why not walk new cars? Go see the sales manager, and present the list (you should be able to easily find 1-3 cars at any decent dealer at any time) and I suggest pricing the repairs accordingly..rather inexpensively if you are in fact hungry. Don't give them a reason to say no..and if they have more than 4, do the next few for free.

Common' now..new car, Paintless Dent Removal is almost ALWAYS easy! The damage is usually very minimal, so the repairs wont take you but a few minutes and should be done in no time, and should net you a few hundred, and now you are off to your next new car dealer to rinse and repeat.

Do a few of these a day, and you should be able to average $600-800 daily, and at that rate, you will make more than $10,000 a month!

Crazy how people overlook the numbers, huh...

If you are interested in autobody reconditioning and want to learn more about the new lucrative business of Paintless Dent Repair, then read all about it on http://nodents.com/

Bosch Wiper Blade - 1994-1997 Honda Passport 3.2 V6 4WD 6VD1

If you have ever been in a manufacturing plant you will see all kinds of machinery. If you think about it, everything you see has been made. Very seldom do you have anything in the raw form. Even most organic food has been handled and packaged to get to you. There are television shows based entirely on how things are made and it is fascinating. They show how cars are made including the automotive roll forming process prior to the typical automotive assembly line we're accustomed to seeing. They show how raw materials are made into the products that can then be made into more refined products.

When looking at some of these processes the question always comes to mind, how much of it is art and how much science and engineering. Maybe it can even go into the realm of a mix. It can be art and science. After all, isn't a growing flower both? The uncoiling of a Jasmine plant is fascinating as is watching an uncoiler spinning off strands of coiled copper wire in a manufacturing plant. They both require perfect timing and incredible engineering. Most people watching a time lapse video of a plant growing don't think about how the stresses and strains of gravity and other forces of Mother Nature impact the ability to produce such beauty and intricacy. However, if you are an engineer in the manufacturing world, you may very well ask those questions when looking at a growing plant.

If you are a creator of bending machines then you may be paying attention to how the earth bends and molds itself into mountains and how old pine trees stay bent over for decades to be some of the oldest trees on earth yet remain so in often harsh conditions. To see the beauty of art and form in manufacturing equipment may be a stretch but then enjoying your surroundings is much less stressful than looking at everything as just another piece of metal.

A leader in engineering art form is Samco Machinery. They create the most efficient automotive roll forming machines and you may even find an art form in the use of their uncoiler with their bending machines if you use your imagination.

1997-2000 Mercedes Benz C230 Bosch Wiper Blade

1997-2000 Mercedes Benz C230 Bosch Wiper Blade - Bosch 3.397.012.091 : 612mm length : Grey.

Government auto emissions control legislation mandates that virtually all cars built or sold in the U.S. come equipped with a catalytic converter. A smart device, catalytic converters help to convert dangerous and polluting exhaust gases into less harmful carbon dioxide and water. As helpful of a device that it is, there are some hazards that come with the use of a catalytic converter. Read on to learn what you need to know about your vehicle's catalytic converter.

Many consider a catalytic converter to be a godsend. With pollution levels ever climbing, the U.S. government acted to reduce harmful pollutants in a step to clean up the environment. The Environmental Protection Agency was formed by the Nixon Administration and the agency was instrumental in passing the Clean Air Act to help America control pollution. Since 1975 virtually every passenger vehicle has come equipped with a catalytic converter.

As helpful as catalytic converters can be, they can be problematic. Besides failure, which generally goes unnoticed until your vehicle flunks its next inspection, it is the intense heat of the unit that can cause problems.

If you work on your own vehicle, you need to let your car cool down completely before working near the exhaust system. Catalytic converters get very hot, as hot as 1800 degrees, and any burn sustained from touching a hot converter can be very dangerous, even deadly.

Motorists have also learned that a catalytic converter can be a fire hazard. For the past three decades police and fire department reports have indicated that many car fires have been started because a motorist parked their car over dry leaves. Even when the engine is off the hot converter can drop a spark which can ignite leaves underneath. If that happens, your car can be engulfed in mere minutes and destroyed by the conflagration.

There are also hazards that occur to the catalytic converter itself. Because the unit burns at such hot temperatures, catalytic converters can suffer rapid thermal deactivation. Some experts suggest switching to synthetic engine oil to help reduce phosphorous contaminants a known contributor to failure.

No, you cannot legally remove your catalytic converter as you may become subject to stiff fines and penalties. Yes, if your car was built before 1975, none of these concerns matter to ou so enjoy your classic and let her rip without pollution controls holding you back!

Many people know that for the first 2 years after passing your motorbike test you are normally restricted to riding a small bike.

What many people don't know is that if you are over 21 you can actually take what is called a direct access motorbike test.

This course trains you to ride larger motorbikes. At the end of the direct access motorbike training you take an advanced motorbike test on a 500cc (or minimum 35kw / 46.6 bhp) bike. If you pass this test then you can ride any size motorbike completely unrestricted!

The course can be sat at various places and over a varying amount of time, dependent of how much tuition you need to get up to scratch.

There is however a change in the regulations planned for sometime next year. (2008)

These changes will result in the need to take your motorbike test in a 'super test centre'. The new components of this test will include a swerve test, and other manoeuvres. These new parts of the test will be carried out off the public roads in the new super centres. Each super centre will need around 2.5 acres of tarmac, and will cost 1.5million each.

The problem may come that there may be only 65 of these new centres, and many people are worried that this may well cause a huge backlog and a big increase in the expense of the motorbike test.

The change is expected to come into effect in either September or October 2008, so best book your direct access course ASAP!

Rust is both a cosmetic and safety danger to your car. Your car can become structurally damaged and dangerous to drive if rust damages important structural and safety components of your car body. Dangerous fumes may seep into the passenger compartments of your car - not good for the health of yourself and your family. Once started rush can flourish and grow becoming very difficult and downright both prohibitive, time consuming and expensive to fix or repair. Your vehicle can and will become unsightly, be greatly reduced in value and difficult to seller trade in for a new vehicle.

What can be done to prevent rust from developing and growing on your car's metal body? First and foremost it comes down to routine and regular car and maintenance of your vehicle's exterior body and paint surface. Have your car washed and dried on a very regular and routine basis. Professional car washes with thorough cleaning of dust and debris in the undercarriage and under the fender areas are well worth the cost and efforts. Dust and debris in crevices, that well not being visible, is a major harbored or moisture can leads to the initiation and growth of rust on car metal bodies. If these hidden areas are clean and dry - there is no retained moisture to metal to start this rust process.

Once started the majority of the damage by rust is under the surface. What you see in rust damage appearing on say a fender is only the tip of the iceberg so to speak. Regular and routine washing and thorough drying of your car is the best effort you can do to prevent rust.

Next see if your car can not be garaged and kept out of the elements and rain. If possible purchase a car cover to keep moisture away from your car metal body - even if garaged. This way further rust causing moisture can be kept away from your car's metal body. A car cover may be of expense but it will be a lot less expensive than a new paint job and as well the cost of rust metal removal and replacement in a competent auto body repair shop.

Of course pay attention to any nicks or surface chips to your car's metal body.

It seems that certain areas are more prone than others. Pay particular attention to the areas around the doors. Do your best not to chip paint with your keys in the areas around the key locks on the drivers as well as passenger and rear doors. Next ensure that any drain holes in the drivers, passengers and rear doors - in the case of crossover and sport utility hatch back models are open m not covered and clear. Ditto this for the trunk area and its key lock. Next pay particular attention to the front areas of your vehicle. The front areas - grill etc are most prone to damaging stone chips from stones and gravel thrown that are thrown from other cars and trucks. Try staying an additional area back from vehicles when driving especially at highway and turnpike speeds.

It cannot be overstated that if you do spot the start of rust take care to have this dealt with professionally as soon as possible. While what you see of rust , is only the surface component and is only a small portion of the damage , nipped in the bud rust damage can be repaired much more simply, easier and less expensively than if left to grow, expand and fester.

In the end it's your vehicle to maintain. Prevention and care of rust on your vehicle is not only a matter of physical appearance but also of safety as well as retention of the value and reliability of your automotive vehicle product.

Bosch Wiper Blade - 88-98 Chevrolet K1500 Pickup Reg Cab V8 5.7

If you have a motorcycle of your own there are some things you should check on a regular basis. Routine maintenance is important for your safety as well as for the safety of others on the road. If you don't have a handbook with specs on your motorcycle, you should try to get one. If that is not possible, you should try to find some information about your motorcycle on the web. There are also workshop manuals available for various models that you can find in auto shops or on the internet. Many of these manuals are available in the form of a CD or DVD.

Keeping up with maintenance on your car is very different from maintaining your motorcycle. You may be able to get by with neglecting some minor things on your car, but with a motorcycle no maintenance aspect is minor. It is unwise to neglect any maintenance detail.

Things you should check daily on your motorcycle

Tires - Make sure both the tires are in good condition.

Tire pressure- It is extremely important to keep tire pressure on or very close to spec.

Oil level - you should always check the oil with the bike on a level ground.

Brakes - check to make sure the brakes are functioning properly.

Lights - All lights should be checked, especially the brake light.

Chain - Check the tension of the chain and make sure it is lubricated well.

Things to check periodically on your motorcycle

Check battery - Make sure all the connections are tight. Also check the electrolyte level on batteries if necessary.

Wheel bearings - Check wheel bearings by grabbing each wheel with it off the ground and see if there is any sideways play.

Swinging arm bearings - Check this with the back wheel off the ground, check for any sideways movement in the swingarm, there should not be any.

Brakes - Check the fluid levels, brake hoses for deterioration, and pads/shoes for thickness.

Cables and levers - These should operate smoothly. You should use a cable oiler to help keep these parts well lubricated.

Nut and bolts - You should go all round the motorcycle with your spanners and check that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight.

The suggestions made here are for basic maintenance. Other larger jobs would obviously have to be done by a mechanic. It is a good idea to have a mechanic check for routine maintenance at least once or twice a year just in case you miss something in your routine maintenance.

Doing auto repairs at home is one of the best ways to keep a car in tiptop shape. Home auto repair is cost-efficient, too, because you can save on professional fees. All it takes to fix your car is a substantial amount of know-how plus a collection of quality tools.

For most people, doing things themselves has its own rewards. The most obvious benefit is that they get to save their hard-earned dollars. When it comes to auto repair, the same mindset applies. It is not surprising why there are many people who still prefer to fix their car in the comfort of their own homes instead of bringing their vehicle in for commercial auto repairs.

Home auto repairs allow car owners the chance to work closely with their own vehicles. They get to tinker around with their cars to identify if it needs tuning up or if a certain part needs replacing. Home auto repairs leave the responsibility in the hands of the car owner. Owners would not have to worry about mechanics mishandling their vehicles or charging them huge fees for simple auto repairs.

If you are planning on repairing your vehicle in the comfort of your own home, do thorough research first. The World Wide Web holds a lot of information regarding auto repair as well as do-it-yourself vehicle maintenance. You will also find a lot of car tips and trivia online.

It would also be wise to amass a collection of commonly used car tools and equipment. Wrenches, screws, jacks and bolts are among the tools you need to get together. You can buy ready car tool kits on the Internet. Do some comparison shopping. Look around for the best deals. Once you have narrowed down your choices to the tools that provide you with the most value for your money, it is easy to have them delivered right to your doorstep.

In today's modern world it is not uncommon to hear of a person having a car shipped to their home. There are many different reasons for hiring a vehicle hauling company, but the preparations that you must make to the vehicle being shipped are always the same. You should consider all that is involved with the transport of an automobile before you decide that this is the right way to get your car to its destination. If you are purchasing a vehicle, and need it shipped to you, then you need to make sure that these preparations are being made on your behalf.

Weight Considerations

Most car shipping companies charge for a shipment based on its weight. This means that larger vehicles will always cost more than smaller vehicles. While you cannot help the weight of the vehicle itself, there are some things that you can do to cut down the overall weight you are charged for.

- Gasoline - Fuel can weight quite a bit if you consider a gas tank. Most tanks can carry anywhere from eleven to thirty gallons of gas. In order to cut the most weight from your shipment, make sure that the fuel tank is as close to empty as you can get it.

- Extra Seats - Many vans and some cars have extra seats that can be removed. If you can, remove these seats and ship them with the rest of your things or leave them at home.

- Other Items - Toolboxes, add-ons, and other extras all add weight. Removing these things before the vehicle is shipped will cut the weight of the vehicle and thus the cost of shipping it.

Preparations

No matter what company you choose to ship your vehicle, you need to make a few preparations before you release it to the carrier. Making these preparations will ensure the safety of the vehicle as well as the safety of the driver who will be hauling it.

- Get an Inspection - There are mechanics and other companies that provide inspections for vehicles that will be shipped. This inspection is important so that the vehicle hauler knows of any leaks or other problems that the car has.

- Take pictures - If there are any dents, scratches, or other damage that is already on the car, it is vital to document it with pictures. This will also prove the condition of the car upon loading if there are any disputes later on.

- Secure Everything - If anything is loose, such as hood ornaments, decals, hubcaps, or anything inside the car, it is best to either remove it or secure it. This will prevent the items from being lost or causing damage to the vehicle.

Insurance

While it is not hard to get a vehicle ready for shipment, you should always be prepared for problems that might occur in transit. These problems can manifest themselves as damage or loss. In these cases, it is vital that you verify your coverage through your insurance policy. In some cases you may have to pay an extra fee to cover the vehicle in transit, but you will find that it is always better to be covered than to deal with the cost of damages at a later date.

Selecting Automotive Navigational GPS

You get in your car with a destination in mind but you wonder, is there a best way to get there. There is a very easy answer to that question and it is called GPS (global positioning system) automotive navigation system. They will direct you to your destination in ways to keep you from getting lost. If you make a wrong turn you are directed the best way to get back on track. The automotive GPS can tell you which way to turn, show you on a 2D or 3D map which way plus written commands easy to follow.

How Automotive Navigation Works

The automotive navigation system locks into a number of satellites to triangulate your exact location. What it does is it overlays the maps to the precise latitude and longitude of your location. It will then guide you with easy to follow directions to your destination.

What to Look For in an Automotive GPS

Traveling by car is a real pleasure with proper navigational instructions to your destination. Think about how often you would need and automotive GPS. How much use and how much information you really need to enhance your travel. Navigational aids can provide you anything you want. A simple route around trouble spots along the highway construction maybe all you need. Points of interest can be attractions, fuel, shopping and restaurants and many others. The more fully loaded with information the higher the price.

Points of Interest or POI

Most automotive GPS systems include points of interest pre-programmed into the unit. They include locations of airports and other transportation services, ATMs and banks, hotels and a many other sites you have an interest in. There are updates available to the database for you to get the latest information on your favorite destinations.

There are full featured entry level models that have a lot of high tech options that are very inexpensive. The user no longer needs to know rocket science to operate the navigational aid. They are so simple to use while driving that your safety level goes up a few notches because of accurate directions less stress trying to decide which way to go.

Some other considerations in your selection would be do you need your aid to use a voice command to tell you which way to go? Or would simple text commands work for you or would you like to have both? Maybe a bright crisp clear screen to see the 2D or 3D map is enough with the commands to your destination displayed across the top of the screen will do. As little or as much as you would like to have is available and affordable.

You must have a system that provides multiple ways of getting to your destination. They can be by address, intersection, a personal address book or latitude and longitude from the map. No matter what your pleasure it is available to meet your needs.

"Can you use water to fuel your car?" is a question on thousands of people's mind nowadays and you probably landed on this article because you, just like everyone else are fed up with high gas prices and are seeking a solution to this problem.

It is really sad how things changed for the worse for some people since the gas prices went up. Some people can barely afford the 'basics' anymore. Thankfully, we might be moving away from the era of "oil dependence".

You might have heard that the latest alternative fuel source for your vehicle is water! Yes, water! That same fluid you use every morning to get cleaned and to gobble down when you are thirsty. People are using fuel for their vehicle's through a device known as a water fuel cell or a water fuel saver kit.

If you are going to use water to fuel your car, it does not mean that you are going to fill your water at the pipe as it will cause serious damage to your engine. What needs to happen is that you first will have to install a device (water fuel cell) in your car which will separate water into hydrogen and oxygen in a small flask and then inject it, along with the gas, into the air system to power your car's engine.

The method has been proven to work in any vehicle all around the world and can be put together with material from your local hardware store or garage.

The instructions on how you can use water to fuel your car is have been tested and is written and packaged in an easy, downloadable format. You get an e-book and even supplementary videos telling you how to handle modifications and how to be using the system. It is all straight forward, easy and affordable.

You can start saving as from today. Go review Water 4 Gas

RV Cosmetic Touch-ups

RV interiors are rife with woodwork and wall paneling that can often get easily scratched or nicked from various sources. There are several products on the market that can help cover up and make these defects 'disappear'.

One such handy product is the common 'White-Out' used to correct spelling errors in typewritten documents. It comes in a convenient bottle with a brush attached to the cap and costs a buck or two. Nail or staple holes in white wallpaper, paneling or ceiling areas are easily filled with this substance and the repair is invisible. I've heard that toothpaste will also work, although I have never tried this.

There is also a white filler for drywall that comes in a squeeze tube - ready mixed and easy to apply. This material dries to a hard finish that can be gently sanded to blend in.

Also available in squeeze tubes, are colored fillers to match oak, walnut or whatever color your paneling may be. These can cover holes or scratches with ease. Often an application of a slight amount of matching stain will hide small surface scratches and blends in with the color. Try this in an inconspicuous area first to make sure.

Larger holes can be covered by pictures, various hanger hooks, or other accessories, depending on where they are located. Sometimes a matching baton strip can be added in the same material finish as the wall. These don't look out of place if they match.

With a little ingenuity, many defects can be made invisible.

Bosch 41926 Excel+ Wiper Blade - 26"

Customer Review: There aren't any better than Bosch
I've been buying Bosch blades for probably 15 years, there aren't any better in my book. They are consistently good, lasting longer than many brands.

The top ten reasons that I see vehicles coming to Ace Automotive for no start problems

  1. Electric fuel pump failure /fuel filter restriction
  2. One of the most common no-start problems I have seen in recent times is the failure of in-tank electric fuel pumps, primarily due to lack of proper scheduled maintain on the vehicle owners part of not having the fuel filter changed at the proper intervals, sure some fuel filters can cost approx. $100.00 and up to replace several times a year but in some vehicles such as late 90s Jeep Gran Cherokees replacing the fuel pump costs nearly $800.00! How many times do you want to pay that?

Also another cause for premature fuel pump failure is allowing the fuel level to get to below tank and below for extended periods or running completely out of fuel running out of fuel allows the electric fuel pump to run "dry" which nearly immediately ruins the pump.

Vortec Design GM engines 4.3L, 5.7L with the CPI fuel injection system the CPI unit fails in many different ways; the plastic tubes leak, the "poppets get plugged, the fuel pressure regulator leaks.

  3. Timing Belt Failure / Timing belt tensioner failure
  4. Timing belts are designed to last approx. 40,000-60,000 miles under normal use not changing the timing belt before it "breaks" can result in expensive engine damage in some vehicles, such as Honda, Acura, Nissan, and Mitsubishi. Always have the timing belt changed a little before the recommended change interval and check the tensioner replace if questionable. Timing belt tensioner failure is common.

  5. Distributor Failure / Including Ignition control modules
  6. Mid 80s Gm 4 cyl. V-6s

Most all GMs with Electronic distributor 4, cylinder, V-6, V-8 1988-1998)

80s / 90s Ford TFI ignition (grey module bolted to outside of distributor)

Ford Pick-up assemblies inside the distributor

I have seen many distributor failures on Hondas especially due to bearing failure.

  7. ECM/ PCM Failure (computer)
  8. Primarily on mid 80s GM products with 2.8L engines and "W" in the 8th position of the VIN #
  9. Alternators
  10. Most problem alternator I have seen is the CS130 /CS130D on some mid 80s GMs for the CS130 and on later GMs the CS130D on like 92 and later makes like Gran Am, Gran Prix, etc.

  11. Crank / Cam Sensors
  12. Late model 92-93 Chrysler vehicles with 3.3L engine Caravan, Voyager,

Mid 80s GMs 2.0L crank sensors 2.5 L crank sensors

Mid 80s- early 90s GM V-6s crank sensors

    90s Jeeps 4.0L engines cam/ crank sensors

Mitsubishi Galant 4 cyl engines crank sensors (failure due to balance belt failure and broken belt cuts sensor wires and damages sensor)

  13. Batteries/ Cables /Clamps
  14. Many neglected corroded Batteries find their way to our facility; Batteries do not last forever! Poor Maintenance practices cause many many battery failures which often leads to other problems.

  15. Electrical Problems
  16. Ford ignition switches, in escorts in the early 90s the electrical portion of the ignition switch will separate inside, some ford ignition switches have been known to cause fires!

  17. Miscellaneous

Vehicles out of fuel due to inaccurate fuel gauges

Engines locked up due to lack of oil

Plugged Exhaust systems (catalytic converters

Teeth missing or worn off the flywheel cannot turn the engine over

Bad fuel injectors

But I have NEVER seen or heard of a car not starting or running bad due to the brand of gasoline being used!

You've Got to Love the Old Chevy Trucks

Love is indeed the correct terminology when you begin talking about old Chevy trucks and their owners. Fierce brand loyalty follows this breed of truck everywhere it goes. As well it should, Chevrolet have been making trucks since the early thirties.

A new phenomenon is being seen across the antique world, it appears that restoration of the old Chevy truck, and in particular, the 67-72 periods are beginning to be a popular past time. Higher and higher numbers of these models are showing up across the nation all decked out and ready to strut their stuff.

A brief history:

1967 In 67, the Chevy was already a popular vehicle for years it had been Americas work truck. In this era, the executives decided it was time for a face-lift and so gave the truck a great modern look. It was this look that would really carry the brand for the next six years.

Along with the new modern, look Chevy would also go to great lengths to make the ride and handling more comfortable. I think the idea was to broaden the demographic to include a woman's interest, as women were becoming prominent in consumer economics. Whatever their reasons though the changes were much appreciated by everyone. Coil springs instead of leaf would increase handling though it was only standard on a few models.

1968

Happy birthday Chevrolet, in 1968 they celebrated 50 years of truck making. This was also the year of the Longhorn; this -ton hoss

of a truck could hold an eight and a half foot long slide in camper! I do not know about you but this was one package I had never heard of. See the things you can learn with a little research? I wonder what an all-original 1968 Longhorn truck would be worth today? Little body changes were made this year with the exception of a few trim parts.

Want to learn more about old Chevy trucks? Are you wondering what else you may not know about the trucks you love? "A Collectors Guide To Old Chevy Trucks" is a great source for information, like the difference between a Cheyenne and a Sierra or what year saw the birth of the K-5 Blazer. All these are important details should you see an old Chevy Truck for sale. Know about your old Chevy trucks! knowing when the engine is not original, and when the bolt hole pattern changed on light duty trucks will be an asset when making your investment. You will be glad you did!

I have been collecting and restoring old trucks, and cars for over 10 years. More information on other old trucks, my old trucks for sale blog includes lots of information, guides, tips, as well as a great resource for finding parts for your restoration project.

If you are interested in learning more about the old Chevy trucks, I suggest you read A Collectors Guide to Old Chevy Trucks. This guide covers old Chevy trucks in more detail, as well there are valuable resources for locating and valuating old trucks, and old Chevy truck parts.

Recent concerns about U.S. port control have been focusing on the possibility that American ports will be used as a conduit for terrorists to attack America. What many people do not realize is that only about 5% of all containers going through our port system have their contents inspected by authorities. That means a full 95% of the containers never receive a visual inspection, although many do get electronically scanned. Still, it is the naked eye which can detect and determine if something in a container isn't quite right. As far as auto parts go, a visual inspection is necessary; unfortunately many fake parts do get through. A global epidemic is in progress and it has little to do with terrorists and everything to do with counterfeit auto parts. Let's take a look at the counterfeit parts "industry" and how you can avoid getting taken.

Yes, it is an industry...the counterfeit auto parts "business" that is. Every year billions of dollars worth of fake auto parts are produced worldwide and circulated to unsuspecting consumers. In some countries the problem is completely out of hand resulting in injury, even death, to drivers and their passengers. Among the parts frequently counterfeited are:

Camshafts

Rocker arms

Antifreeze

Transmission fluids

Bearings

Belts

Distributor caps

Valves

Alternators

Brake pads

Air conditioner condensers

Shocks and struts

Oxygen sensors

Spark plugs...

...the list goes on and on and on...

So, how can you spot a fake auto part? A visual inspection of the product is very important. Look at the part and feel it. If it seems or looks different from the part that it is replacing, then that can be a sure sign that it is a counterfeit. In addition, check the packaging carefully: odd shaped or odd fitting packaging, mismatched logos, typos, anything out of the ordinary should raise a red flag to you.

If you believe a part is fake contact the retailer and let them know that you suspect that they sold a counterfeit part to you. Don't accuse the retailer of knowingly doing something wrong; any decent retailer will quickly remedy the situation as it is their reputation that is on the line.

No, you can't guarantee that you will never purchase a counterfeit auto part, but you can certainly reduce the chances. Only deal with reputable retailers and when purchasing online avoid purchasing from overseas suppliers. Auto parts wholesalers not only can save you money, but lessen the risk of you getting something that isn't genuine. How is that? Because wholesalers buy everything directly from the manufacturer. No middle man to get in the way to jack up prices or, potentially, try to pass off auto parts as genuine that are in reality, fake.

The counterfeit auto parts industry is booming but you can do your part to lessen its impact. Be aware of what you are buying and only purchase your replacement auto parts from reputable dealers who stand by everything they sell.

You may have negotiated a maintenance plan into your purchase price, if that's the case great. If you have bought a second hand RV, you may be able to do a lot of the preventative maintenance yourself.

Like all expensive items that you cherish, you'll no doubt make sure that it's well protected and well looked after. Preventative RV maintenance is all about keeping a check on those parts that are either known to cause problems or will probably cause problems if left poorly maintained.

A few of the more common things to keep a close check on when maintaining an RV are very similar to that of a car. These maintenance items will ensure that the basics are covered.

Fuel System Check

Regularly check that the fuel filter is clean and free from debris that may have come from the fuel tank. Clogged filters will make it harder for the RV's engine to operate efficiently as the correct mixture of fuel to air may not be maintained within the combustion chamber. This can cause what's known as "kangaroo" jumping or juddering and is not a pretty sight.

Air Filter System

Check the air filters and replace them regularly at least 3 to 4 times a year depending on how dirty or dusty the local environment is. Air filters keep the air that's introduced into the engine combustion chamber clean. When these filters become blocked or compromised they will affect the efficiency and hence MPG of your RV. Check them regularly and replace when required or at the interval you have decided upon.

Braking System Check

Be sure to check the brake pads and brake fluid before attempting any long journey. Brake pads will get worn down fast in more difficult or challenging terrain. Check the brake fluid lines regularly for damage or leaks.

Ignition System Check

The contact points on the ignition need to be checked at least once every six months. Your engine may be having a hard time starting and this is exactly the type of problem caused by poor contacts. If you have a direct injection engine, clogged injectors could cause the same problem.

Cleaning products are readily available that you can put into the fuel tank that can add some life to your injectors. You should though know that if this does not work, your injectors may be past the point of saving and will need to be changed.

Suspension System Check

Tires that have uneven wear patterns are often the result of suspension problems or may just be incorrect inflation pressures. If the RV leans heavily in turns or the front end drops low when braking, there is a real possibility that you have suspension problems.

The old test for shock absorbers was to manually bounce each corner of the RV, if possible and watch to see if there are more than just a few bounces. Excessive bouncing will probably mean that the shocks need changing. If you have a large RV, then it would be best to get the above symptoms checked out at a local garage that offers RV maintenance.

Preventative maintenance will help your RV run for much longer and give you extra years of service. Look after your RV and it will look after you. It would be safe to say it's a bit like a marriage.

More than 100 Americans die every day in automobile accidents. In fact, over the last century, more have perished due to car crashes in the United States than in all the wars the country has fought. Although this is a horrible statistic, the 2006 Traffic Safety Annual Assessment from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported the largest U.S. decline in terms of both number and percentage since 1992. This vigorous reduction is a goal that automotive engineers are striving to continue year after year.

Innovative automotive engineering can make cars safer, but at the same time, drivers must also strive for improvements. Many motorists at one time or another can recall either almost being killed on the road, stories of road-rage or helplessly observing an accident happen right in front of their very eyes. According to a 1999 Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) special, Escape! Because Accidents Happen - Car Crash, the roads are, indeed, a major threat. What's more, an automotive magazine recently published statistics which reveal that more than 95% of these accidents involve some degree of (poor) driver behavior.

Indeed, some Americans may not rank amongst the best of the world's drivers, but it's not entirely due to operator error, either. Poor roadway maintenance, roadway design and equipment failure have also been referenced as top factors affecting crashes. Frequently, driving behavior interacts with at least one of these other factors to produce a grave situation.

Aside from rectifying the paradox that the majority of drivers consider themselves more skillful than their counterparts, better engineering and innovative automotive technology could help improve roadway safety. Today, it is well understood that properly deployed cushions of air (i.e., airbags) can assist in saving lives. In much the same way, in the previous generation, the advantages of good restraining devices were discovered. Car navigation systems particularly aid the directionally challenged - and, what about using those fancy "carputers" for technology to help make our roads safer? Automotive engineers are answering this need by developing "active safety systems." These systems can help reduce the number of crashes and minimize the effects of crashes that do occur.

Automotive safety is taking on a new role as active safety components are beginning to gain ground as technology and development improve. Some suppliers are developing specialized active and passive safety systems. These include forward collision and lane departure warning, electronic stability control, pre-crash mitigation, side alert systems, active night vision and road sign and pedestrian recognition - all of which do about what they sound like they should.

Imagine how different driving could be if motorists were warned before they were about to sideswipe a fellow road warrior, alerted before missing a stop sign or even just able to see what's ahead at night. Such technologies could prove paramount to safety as humankind steps into an era of even more cars, faster speeds and the repercussions of recent population explosions.

A European study reported that 80% of drivers involved in accidents believed the other party could have done something to prevent the mishap. But what if everybody just stopped blaming each other and became better drivers? What if existing technology was utilized and built upon to reduce the number of traffic fatalities? In the end, determining fault matters more if something can be done about it, such as discovering ways to prevent other collisions.

It can be scary out there on bustling roadways. All one has to do is hop on a busy interstate or horn-chorused city street to realize roads "ain't no horse trails." In the chaos that is modern driving, these new "active" safety systems are promising.

Bosch 4817 Evolution All-Season Bracketless Wiper Blade - 17"

Wiper Blade
Customer Review: Great replacement for stock blades!
The stock blades on my 07 Altima were streaking and squeaking all over the place, so I bought this along with the 28" blades to replace them. I love that they're bracketless, just like the stock Nissan blades, and I've had them for months now and they're better than the stock blades were brand new! Buying one and getting the other free after rebate was good too :)
Customer Review: A better wiper
I saw wipers like this on a Volkswagen at the auto show last year and didn't realize you could buy them as an accessory until Amazon sent me an e-mail mentioning they were about half price with rebate. Though the rebate requirements were typically onerous (including cutting out a UPC in a difficult spot on the packaging--this is obviously by design), I jumped through the hoops and submitted my rebate. Anyway, the wipers work well, hugging the contour of the window without the typical mechanism of tiered metal or plastic junk that gets iced-over in the winter, and they should in general be less trouble to maintain than typical old-fashioned wipers. Due to their aerodynamic profile, I have also noticed a 10 mpg increase in gas mileage--in my dreams. However, they look sleek and I have no complaints about their wiping ability. I would prefer that these wipers were made in Germany rather than China--the brand is Bosch, after all--but I am obviously an old-timer with a naive longing for an era when the Americans and Europeans made their own consumer products. One final comment--After I bought these and went through the trouble of obtaining the rebate, I noticed some very similar wipers at Wal Mart. Though they weren't Bosch brand, they looked about the same. So if you're going to buy Chinese-made wipers--might as well try the ones at the same place that sells you toothpaste and pickles.

Have you ever had your car just "die" on you, you try to start it and it just will not start. You end up calling a tow truck and paying those big tow bills, then to make matters worse the technician at the shoptells you that it will cost hundreds of dollars to make it run again,is that true? Maybe maybe not.

I own and work as a diagnostics Tech here at Ace Automotive in Lakewood Wa and I can tell you from experience if some people knew just a little more about their cars workings they could save a whole lotta money. Say for instance you are driving at night wipers and heater ,lights and radio on you notice that the headlights keep getting dimmer and dimmer soon the vehicle "dies" and now won't start the most likely cause is the alternator has failed, not the battery because if the battery failed the alternator would still keep power to the vehicle until you turned it off then it would not restart.

You are driving for a while and the car just "shuts off" all the instrument lights come on but when you try to start it it just turns over but will not start. First it depends what kind of car this happend to if it was an import like say Honda, acura, toyota, subaru, nissan, mitubishi, the engine timing belt may have broken (if it's been more that 60,000 miles since you changed it last time) you should be able to tell if when you try to start the engine it sounds different like its just "freewheeling" faster than normal, this is bad cause most of the import cars mentioned will do expensive damage to the engine when the timing belt breaks.

If your vehicle is a domestic one chevy ford ect, be patient wait a little bit maybe 30-45 min and try to start it if it starts hurray! But it will "die" again once it's hot enough again, be sure to tell your local tech this valuable information and ask for all parts they replace to repair your vehicle to let them know you know something about the car too.

Bosch 40724 Micro Edge Wiper Blade - 24"

Bosch 40724 Wiper Blade
Customer Review: Streaks and more streaks
I'm disappointed in the wipers. I bought the Bosch because I though it was a good brand, but the fact is these wipers don't work all that much better than the old ones they replaced. They leave streaks as they go back and forth and just don't work like new wipers should (and I've had them on my car for three months now). They work better when there's heavy rain, but still they're not great. I won't be buying these again.

There aren't many things as dangerous as a car with inefficient brakes, you know this.

Regularly changing brake pads is really important.

Your safety while driving depends on several factors but regarding brakes it all depends on equipment: saving few bucks on brake pads isn't worth!

There's no need to go to the mechanic to replace your brake pades, you can easily do it yourself.

If it's the firts time you do it allow it some hours, it's not difficult but it will require some time if you're not experienced.

Attention: after driving the car brake pads and brake discs are hot.

Avoid any possible risk working in a safe area.

  • Make sure your car will not move at all, set the handbrake and park in a plain area.
  • Loosen the lug nuts before jacking the car up.
  • Jack the car up so you can remove the wheel as if replacing the wheel. (Use two jack stands for your safety)
  • Remove the caliper bolts and make it slide away from the disc: brake pads are the black parts that were near the disc surface.
  • Remove them from the caliper: there are several kinds of calipers so you have to see how it works in your car but you should easily do it: it's just a matter of bolts or clips.
  • Take the occasion to check brake rotors condition, rotors must be the more smooth possible and must not have any asperities. If it's damaged you'll have to get a new one. Discs can also be reconditioned but it's not recommended.
  • Now, with the new thicker pads you need to push the caliper piston back to its original position in order to create enough space for the new pads, you might need an adjustable spanner or a C-Clamp.
  • Apply brake pad grease on the part that won't be in contact with the rotor and put them inside the caliper.
  • Reassemble everything as it was and proceed with the other side and the rear axle if your car has four disc brakes.

You're done, go out for a test and drive slow. Pay attention, the brake pedal might be softer and braking spaces longer. In few days the new pads should reach their final position and any noise should disappear.
Make sure you reassemble everything carefully.

2001-2006 BMW 330Ci Bosch Front Wiper Blade Set

2001-2006 BMW 330Ci Bosch Front Wiper Blade Set - Front

Car buyers around the world are now looking for fuel efficient vehicles, and this demand has led car manufacturers to develop fuel efficient vehicles.

DaimlerChrysler, one of the major players in the global auto scene, is currently expanding its advanced propulsion technology program to include plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The newest addition to the groups lineup of fuel efficient vehicle is the plug-in Dodge Sprinter hybrid electric vehicle.

Through the first quarter of 2008 from today, twenty of the aforementioned vehicles will be tested by consumers in the United States. DaimlerChrysler is the only car maker to evaluate their plug-in hybrid vehicles by letting their customers themselves have a go at it.

Four of the said vehicles are already in the hands of customers and are being tested for their real-world performance. These vehicles feature advanced battery technology and a hybrid drivetrain configuration which pertains to an electric motor that provides the additional power to its small internal combustion engine.

The vehicles are equipped with a small engine which will be available either in gasoline or diesel fuel configuration. Of course, diesel engine will give consumers the better fuel efficiency of the two engines. Diesels ability to provide huge amount of energy and its relatively cheaper price compared to gasoline makes it the obvious choice for those who wants to save cash on the pump.

Aside from the efficient gasoline or diesel engines, the plug-in 2007 Dodge Sprinter hybrid will be featuring a Lithium-ion battery pack. Li-ion as it is called is more powerful and weighs considerably less than the usual nickel-metal hydride battery. This means that the plug-in vehicles will also weigh less when compared to a similar vehicle equipped with a nickel-metal hydride battery pack. The lighter the vehicle, the less power it needs to drive it which means that the switch to lithium-ion batteries will indirectly reduce the amount of fuel consumed by the internal combustion engine.

The development of batteries is the most common issue being looked into by car manufacturers developing hybrid electric vehicles. Mark Chernoby, the Vice President for Advanced Vehicle Engineering for the Chrysler Group, says that: For plug-in hybrid technology to move forward, a dramatic leap in battery technology is necessary. He further emphasized the battery technology being used by the Dodge Sprinter plug-in hybrid. The energy storage systems in the Dodge Sprinter PHEV concept fleet will provide valuable field experience on the possibilities with lithium-ion battery technology, says Chernoby.

The plug-in technology will greatly increase the fuel efficiency of hybrid vehicles since vehicles with this technology can conveniently recharge its battery pack via a common household power outlet. The plug-in Dodge Sprinter hybrid is reported to have the ability to travel up to 20 miles on battery power alone. For some motorists, that is enough to cover their mileage in a day. That means that they may not even consume a drop of fuel in a day.

This technology needs more improvements so that consumers can easily afford these vehicles as they can easily afford to buy replacement Volvo shocks when the old ones wear out.

2000-2006 Mercedes Benz S430 Bosch Wiper Blade Set

2000-2006 Mercedes Benz S430 Bosch Wiper Blade Set

Nissan Motors continues to make important strides in becoming one of the highest quality automakers on the scene in North America today. Long living in the shadow of Japanese stalwarts Honda and Toyota, Nissan is fighting back with a series of new or updated models to cut into the Honda-Toyota dominance. Can they succeed? You be the judge as we take a look at four coming attractions soon to make their appearance at a Nissan dealer near you!

Nissan Versa - Toyota's Scion division has been a hit with the youth, while Nissan has been scrambling to provide models that can capture the interest of new drivers while being at the same time affordable. Scheduled for release by Summer 2006, the Versa will come with a 1.8L inline four cylinder engine and be available as either a five door hatchback or a four door sedan. The car will be manufactured in Mexico with a starting price in the neighborhood of 12 thousand dollars expected. FYI: The Mazda Verisa is a similarly named, but unrelated small car sold only in Japan.

Nissan Cube - Still in the "maybe it will be imported" stage, the new Cube is Nissan's response to the Scion xB and the Honda Element. Seating five to seven adults, the Cube is exactly that: a box on wheels. Published reports suggest that the Cube will be released to the North American market by 2008.

Nissan Sentra - A new Sentra is expected to bow during the second half of 2006 as a 2007 model. Significant styling changes and an up market push are planned by Nissan to help the car compete more effectively with the VW Golf and Mazda 3.

Nissan Altima - The big change coming for the Altima is the introduction of a hybrid engine. Scheduled to hit Nissan showrooms by Fall 2006, this new Altima model will actually borrow Toyota technology to create Nissan's first hybrid. The engine and the battery will be all Nissan, however; Nissan apparently needs an assist from its Japanese rival to enter the growing hybrid segment.

Beyond 2008 consumers can expect to see an updated Quest van makes its appearance with subtle changes on the remaining vehicles in Nissan's line up. Additional models are in the concept stage; expect some to be shown at upcoming auto shows.

Although it is too early to confirm each of the four featured models, Nissan's thrust in the coming years is to increase its share of the Generation "Y" market. Should the Cube and Versa make their appearance as hoped for, Nissan is likely to score some points with young drivers in two areas: style and price. Look out Honda and look out Toyota!
